They say that you learn a lot by example. A memory I have growing up is watching my mom writing out greeting cards, in her cursive handwriting, for special occasions in people's lives. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday and on top of that, she even chose to witness the regular days and moments in between. It was those days you came home to find a card in the mail, for no reason, that made everything seem ok. It has left an impression on me, to be a witness and a recipient of these cards. She made me realize early on to be a witness to others and the small details of life. From this memory, and carrying on the tradition, I created the Flaneur Way cards. Cards that capture the simple moments and expressions to be witnessed and remembered.
