IN STUDIO - AMY DRYER
PART ONE
Amy dryer is a Canadian painter, born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. Her gestural style ,a characteristic of german expressionism, emphasizes the subject expression of inner experiences. Conveying these ideas by combing line, form and colour, to represent and yet slightly distort her subject matter.
I had the chance to interview her in the summer of 2017 in her Calgary studio. We discussed her creative process and artistic journey past, present and future. Reflecting on her inspirations subject matter, and routine as an artist. Later on in the interview we touch upon her struggles and dreams and where she is heading with her work.
